    Itinerary

1st DAY: Cusco - Wiñay Huayna - Aguas Calientes (Lunch & Dinner)
Early in the morning, we'll leave Cusco by train to go to Km 104 of the railroad, in the Sacred Valley, where the trek starts. Upon arrival, we'll visit the archeological site of Chachabamba, at 2,250 m. above sea level. There, agricultural products proceeding from other places were collected to be taken to Machu Picchu. Afterwards, we'll start our walk towards Wiñay Huayna. On the way, we'll enjoy beautiful views of the Urubamba River and the chances are many to see different varieties of the famous orchid family. Around the last bend of the trail, we'll contemplate the amazing sight of Wiñay Huayna, rigth below us. So, we´ll stop and visit this interesting and important Incan site. After a few minutes' walking, we'll pause to have lunch. In the afternoon, we'll walk the last hours towards Machu Picchu, which is visible at a distance from Inti Punku (Gate of the Sun), in the beautiful afternoon sun, before going down to Aguas Calientes. Finally, we'll spend the night at a nice hostel in the village.

2nd DAY: Machu Picchu - Cusco
After breakfast, we'll arrive at the Historical Sanctuary of Machu Picchu (2,400 m.), to go on a guided tour of about 3 hours, followed by some free time for lunch. In the afternoon, we'll take the train back to Cusco. Upon arrival, we'll transfer you to your hotel and will end our services.

      David Fernandez
